Pole Dancing Pole – Peekaboo!

February 12, 2009

Pole Dancing Pole Peekaboo! peekaboo dancing pole1Need a romantic gift? You have come to the right place because here at GFM we know romance. What better way to say I love you and add a bit of class to your home than with the Peekaboo Pole. At first glance I can hear you shift uneasily in your seat as you think “This is no gadget for a man, well at least no normal man!”, but think a little harder and you will see the bigger picture.

We have tried, but have failed to see a downside to any bloke buying this for his woman, as both the giver and receiver of the Peekaboo Pole dancing pole will receive benefits, which we have broken down as follows:

Solar Mobile Phone Charger Keyring

February 2, 2009

Solar Mobile Phone Charger Keyring solar keychain1We love it when some bright spark takes good, complicated technology and makes it easy and portable for us “average Joes” to use. This Solar Keychain is a cracking example. Mobile solar charges are not exactly new tech, but we always found them to be a bit too bulky and far too much effort to use (pull panels out of here, twist centre section there, etc…). This new gen version is much more “average Joe” friendly. Its simple instruction pamphlet (yes, we used the word pamphlet) should really only have two instructions: Attach to key ring and attach to device when needed.

Hacked USB Memory Stick

January 21, 2009

Hacked USB Memory Stick hacked usb memory stickFunny USB memory sticks are now that common they rarely even raise an eyebrow from us upon viewing, unless they are totally off the wall. This 2GB USB memory stick raised both eyebrows and even brought on a little titter. Any PC savvy person will cringe at the thought of jerking a laptop away with USB still attached to source items, and this is why this Hacked USB Memory Stick works.

Foolproof Egg Timer

January 13, 2009

Foolproof Egg Timer egg perfect egg timerFoolproof is a bold claim, like unsinkable – and we know what happened to the titanic! And then to state this along side something as egg-zact as boiling an egg, we were dubious to say the least about the Foolproof Egg Timer. Upon closer investigation we realised this little red egg actually works on some simply complicated science, that we won’t bore you with, but as a result actually makes the timer surprisingly accurate, in a surprising number of ways.

Spy Sun Glasses

December 1, 2008

Spy Sun Glasses spy sun glassesIf you know GFM you will know that we love spy gadgets that have practical uses. Yep we actually love them and these funky looking spy camera sun glasses are no exception. Hold up! A practical use for spy camera glasses? Honestly? Bear with us and all will be explained.

So lets start with the basics. They are essentially a pair of smart looking shades with 1GB of memory and a 1.3 mega-pixel covert camera built in. Our first thoughts were along the lines of; “How the hell are you going to be able to hide a 1.3 mega-pixel camera and all the rest of the electronics involved ‘covertly? The glasses will be much bigger than usual and any numpty will easily be able to tell something is up!” Yes, the arms of the shades are slightly oversized but not to the extent we were expecting.

MiniCat – Catamaran In A Rucksack!

November 12, 2008

MiniCat Catamaran In A Rucksack! mini catamaranIts time to let the cat out of the bag, but not as you might expect. Welcome to one of the most ingenious gadgets I have every seen, welcome to the MiniCat. This fine engineering feat is basically a Catamaran in a rucksack. A dingy in a bag, that’s a child’s toy! You could not be further from the mark, this is no dingy and this is certainly no child’s toy.

Cheap Nintendo Wii?

September 8, 2008

Cheap Nintendo Wii? cheap nintendo wiiNintendo produce a great new console and then name it after bodily function, yep that would be the Nintendo Wii!?

We giggled at this brave new name when we first heard it and sniggered at Nintendo’s marketing manager’s line of “every house should have a Wii”, but now this name holds no childish comical connotations for us as it has made such a big splash in the games console market.

The Nintendo Wii is like no other console that has made it to market and “in theory” should be ‘poo’. The graphics are last generation, it has little to no connectivity compared to rivals and it does not even double up as a DVD player. But despite these small flaws this stylish little box of magic is by far the most fun console available to buy.

Eco-Button

August 26, 2008

Eco Button eco button usbA Gadget that helps to save the planet is not normally the first choice hear on GFM… But one that can also save you money and give your PC some protection peaked our interest. I give you, the Ecobutton.

This clever little thing is essentially a large LED back lit button that connects to your computer via a USB port. You give the large green button a push and hey presto, the magic happens, or in other words, you PC quickly goes into “Eco Mode”. Eco Mode is essentially standby mode that keeps you hard drive running, but does it while only using 1.8 watts of power (apparently that is loads less then most normal standby modes). I know what you are thinking; “Yawn” “Seen it before” “Who cares” and we thought the same when we first saw it. But read on as the best is yet to come.

Voice Recording Watch

August 3, 2008

Voice Recording Watch voice recorder watchI love multi-purpose gadgets, especially ones with practical and covert uses. This little gem of a voice recording watch is just such a gadget. Concealed within this fine piece of craftsmanship is 1GB of flash memory attached to a microphone. You may be asking how this is practical or covert. Or you might have already seen the nearest uses this gadget could be used for.

The microphone is cleverly placed so that you can clearly record while the watch is still on your wrist. This makes it very easy to covertly record conversations without raising suspicion. Perfect for people who need that extra bit of evidence or to catch that embarrassing info on tape that will allow you to extort pints from friends in exchange for your silence.
