The Riff Rocker is essentially a USB controller for a game.  You plug the little rocker into a free USB socket, download the two games off the Riff Rocker website, and then thrash your little fingers off.  

The downloadable games come with the usual 3 difficulty settings and are based around the guitar heroes-esc format of “press the correct coloured button in time with the on screen prompt”.

Solar Mobile Phone Charger Keyring solar keychain1We love it when some bright spark takes good, complicated technology and makes it easy and portable for us “average Joes” to use. This Solar Keychain is a cracking example. Mobile solar charges are not exactly new tec, but we always found them to be a bit too bulky and far too much effort to use (pull panels out of here, twist centre section there, etc…). This new gen version is much more “average Joe” friendly. Its simple instruction pamphlet (yes, we used the word pamphlet) should really only have two instructions: Attach to key ring and attach to device when needed.

Eco-Button

Eco Button eco button usbA Gadget that helps to save the planet is not normally the first choice hear on GFM… But one that can also save you money and give your PC some protection peaked our interest. I give you, the Ecobutton.

This clever little thing is essentially a large LED back lit button that connects to your computer via a USB port. You give the large green button a push and hey presto, the magic happens, or in other words, you PC quickly goes into “Eco Mode”. Eco Mode is essentially standby mode that keeps you hard drive running, but does it while only using 1.8 watts of power (apparently that is loads less then most normal standby modes). I know what you are thinking; “Yawn” “Seen it before” “Who cares” and we thought the same when we first saw it. But read on as the best is yet to come.

You might be thinking that 2MB is rubbish compared to your new 16GB pen drive, but that 2MB memory converts to whopping 2 Million key strokes!
