Not A White Paper Cup, It’s A Ceramic Paper-Looking Cup!

I think at some point everybody has wandered into the kitchen and thought ‘hmm, I don’t like these mugs anymore if only I had a (ceramic) Paper Cup…but one that I didn’t have to throw away’. Well maybe not but that’s exactly what this is. It even has the little sippy silicone lid that has become so iconic from take away coffee shops.

Suitable for dishwashers and totally renewable its good for environment as well as being useful. The silicon lid conceals the heat so you’re cuppa doesn’t go cold in a matter of minutes. It is a simple, plain, white porcelain mug that looks identical to a paper cup. What a quirky, but novel idea!

Everybody loves paper cups but everybody throws them away, therefore creating excessive landfill and damaging the environment. This thing is 100% reusable so is perfect for everyone.

Unfortunately there is no mock slogan on it, perhaps something that imitates the likes of Starbucks for its cheap paper cups, that would been a nice addition.

As it is, it’s simply a porcelain White Paper Cup that isn’t a paper cup! Nothing more nothing less. But what else would you want it to be? It’s a paper cup!

Voodoo Knife Block (UK)

If you’ve arrived here at Gadgets For Men looking for the Voodoo Knife Block then you’ll probably want to know that we’ve now removed our original blog post in which we wrote about the modern-art style design of storing a set of kitchen knives in the style of pins in a voodoo doll.

As much as we enjoy being blokes and ‘one of the boys’ here on Gadgets For Men, we’re also family guys and after hearing the news story in which this Voodoo Knife Block was on display in a shop window where it could be viewed by young children, we felt it would be wrong to be actively promoting this item here on this site anymore.

Therefore, we’ve now removed the original blog post about this item as given some families of the victims of knife crime had been offended by the item, perhaps the style of that post did not fit with this site.

Peanut Butter Maker

For those of you who enjoy a good peanut butter sandwich, look no further than the Peanut Butter Maker. The extremely imaginatively named device uses only peanuts, no added oils, fats etc. needed, only nuts to create perfect warm peanut butter every time.

There are two different options which really don’t take a lot of working out. A small dial will direct you to whether you would like chunky, or smooth peanut butter depending on how you like it.

Best of all, you don’t even have to stick with peanuts. You can throw in any nuts that you like and it will butter them up for you! Just pour them down the funnel and choose your setting. Moment later you will be provided with your ideal nut butter. There is a slight warning, or rather a guideline, that you should only use small-ish nuts. Don’t go steaming in with the biggest coconuts you can find or you might find a slight problem with your nutty butter.

The bowl is dishwasher proof so is easily cleaned for the lazy among us and if that includes you, then you will be pleased to know that in my personal opinion, this is probably the easiest machine to operate, ever. It is just as easy as opening an expensive jar which will be brutally killing off the environment no doubt.

The Peanut Butter Maker really is a must have addition to any peanut butter lover’s kitchen. Shame Christmas has been and gone to be honest, but I suppose that’s no excuse not to treat yourself to a cool gadget like this.

Chain Wine Bottle Holder

Ok so this Chain Wine Bottle Holder may seem kind of a pointless gadget…apart from the fact it will probably amaze everyone who sees it…at least for a short time until they decide to take the wine and have a drink.

Basically, the seemingly average nickel plated chain holds any bottle of wine aloft as if by magic. Looking at the images I’m still not sure I fully understand how this thing works, but apparently it does.

Most wine lovers will somewhere in there house have a rack packed with bottles of the stuff. This thing however, only carries one. However, not many people’s wine rack packed with bottles is as visually impressive as this one. The chain is arranged in such a way that you simply slide the neck of any average bottle of wine through a small loop and it holds it in place like a vice. Obviously it’s pretty easy just to take it out again I would imagine there is no need for any heavy duty tools to access your drink unless you count a corkscrew.

Overall it’s ultimately an extremely pointless and impractical concoction which will set you back £20. However, if you have money to burn and need an extra chain to hold your wine then this is no doubt, right up your alley. Whether you would actually buy one or not, you can’t deny this Chain Wine Bottle Holder is actually pretty cool to look at and would certainly be welcome in any bachelor pad!

Slushie Maker – Cool Ice Drinks! (Retro Style)

Not too long ago you could buy a Slush Puppie cold iced drink in almost every general store, fair or festival you entered as they had their own Slushie Maker. Nowadays we are forced to reminisce about the days we could do such things. Until now. The Slushie Maker let’s you create your very own cool ice drinks in all of your favourite fruity flavours.

It’s absolutely idiot proof. You can put any type of drink in there even tea or coffee, but I recommend you stick to fruit juice. Just pack the machine with ice and add a pinch of salt (I am assured that you can’t taste it) as well as a splash of liquid; switch it on and boom you have a Slushie drink.

This can be used for any occasion really. It’s a great way to cool you down in the ever sweltering British summer, or you can leave it out at parties and your guests can help themselves to frozen, ice cold cocktail drinks etc. It will go down a treat I’m sure. Something different anyway until you break out the Ice Cream Ball maker!

The container is fairly sizeable so can produce a great amount of slushie ice drinks for the entire family in one go. The possibilities are endless and you can experiment for hours if you really are that fascinated by Slush Puppie-style ice drinks. The machine actually looks pretty cool too, the Slushie Maker has a very retro look to it so it will fit in nicely when the conversation turns to harping back to the good ol’ days.

Rubik’s Cube Salt And Pepper Shakers

What is it?
This is the best novelty salt and pepper shakers we have ever seen (not that we spend hours looking for them though). Based on the eighties classic icon, the Rubik’s Cube, this pair of table condiments will make anyone over the age of 15 smile. Measuring in at 5.7 cm2 they are the same size as the original making them not imposing enough to be impractical. The stylish plastic outer casing houses a durable ceramic grinder like in most mills.

Why do I want it?
Nostalgia is a powerful feeling, and these little gadgets stirs something deep inside us. We instantly regressed back to an age of he-man, slightly to tight football shorts and rubbish hair styles. The Rubik’s Cube Condiment set is not only retro sheik they are also practical and easy to use. You simply pull the top layer of bricks off to fill (White for salt, Red for pepper), replace the lid and rotate. What better way to dispense the much needed seasoning than from a couple of eighties iconic blocks – yoru very own Rubiks Cube salt and pepper shaker set?

Garlic Zoom

What is it?
The Garlic Zoom is as you can probably guess, a new kitchen gadget that allows you to chop garlic with ease. You simply pop the cloves of garlic required into the little bladed contraption then push it along your work surface. The wheels drive the internal blades that slice and dice the little stinking cloves. Simply tap the garlic out when it has reached your required consistency and add it to your chosen cuisine.

Why do I want it?
Anyone who has tried to cook with fresh garlic will know the dreaded “stink finger” that you will inevitably get from chopping the tasty little buds. The great thing about the Garlic Zoom is that you do not need to handle the garlic once it has been chopped, you simply chop it to your desired consistency then tap it out, thus cleverly eliminating “garlic stink finger”. The length of time you run your cloves in the little gizmo effects the final product. If you want it roughly chopped give it a couple of work surface test laps, if you want a paste go for a full grand prix. Once you have finished creating your culinary delight simply whack the Garlic Zoom in your dish washer. It’s easily and safely stored as it is only a small kitchen gadget and so wont eat up that valuable cupboard space!

Foolproof Egg Timer

Foolproof is a bold claim, like unsinkable – and we know what happened to the titanic! And then to state this along side something as egg-zact as boiling an egg, we were dubious to say the least about the Foolproof Egg Timer. Upon closer investigation we realised this little red egg actually works on some simply complicated science, that we won’t bore you with, but as a result actually makes the timer surprisingly accurate, in a surprising number of ways.

The simple bit of science allows the timer to work on heat rather than time witch does not sound like such a big thing at first. Because of this fresh perspective the timer does some very clever things like; it takes into account how many eggs you are cooking at once, and how much water they are being cooked in, and at what altitude you are cooking them! How does it do that? Well, that’s the complicated bit of the science that you don’t need to worry about. All you need to know are GFM’s 5 foolproof steps;

Step 1) Take your Foolproof Egg Timer out of its packaging.

Step 2) Drop the Foolproof Egg Timer into your pan of boiling water along with your eggs.

Step 3) Watch the Foolproof Egg Timer closely as its outer sides slowly change colour.

Step 4) When the Foolproof Egg Timer’s changing colour sides meets your egg preference line, your eggs are done so take them out of the water (!WARNING! the water will be hot, so fools please DO NOT just use your hands)

Step 5) Sit back, relax and enjoy your perfectly cooked eggs.
