Being the astute persons that you are, you can probably guess that this is an umbrella. But this is like no other umbrella we have ever seen before, because this is a “Lightsaber Umbrella”.
Rubik’s Cube Salt And Pepper Shakers
April 28, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Cooking Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets
What is it?
This is the best novelty salt and pepper shakers we have ever seen (not that we spend hours looking for them though).
Based on the eighties classic icon, the Rubik’s Cube, this pair of table condiments will make anyone over the age of 15 smile. Measuring in at 5.7 cm2 they are the same size as the original making them not imposing enough to be impractical. The stylish plastic outer casing houses a durable ceramic grinder like in most mills.
GFM Did Gadget Show Live (Review)
April 22, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Gadget News
Its always nice to be able to say “Been there, done that“. Having just got back from the Trade Fair 2009, oops I mean the Gadget Show Live 2009 we thought it was best to let you know our opinions. We don’t really like being negative so we have tried to be as nice as possible:
The Birmingham NEC is always good an clean with ample parking and a pleasant walk to the venues. The entrance hall was light and airy, the toilets were clean(ish) and the staff were pleasant. Well that concludes our review of the Gadget Show Live 2009, only joking, it was not that bad. The queue to get in did stretch further than any eye can see (round a corner) and even though it was a large hall, it was packed. At first glance it looked good, lots of big named stalls and plenty of buzz. On closer inspection it was a lot of trade stands trying to sell some main-stream tosh. There were some good stalls with new gadgets hidden within the mass, so we had a chat to them and should hopefully be bringing you some good reviews soon.
Freeline Skates – Next Skating Craze?
April 18, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Sports Gadgets
What is it?
Freeline Skates are a mad mash of skateboarding and rollerblading resulting in a pair of lightweight aluminium skates measuring in at a tiny 19 x 18 x 18cm. No straps necessary (like skateboarding) as your feet remain on the scates using gravity and friction. This results in a highly manoeuvrable experience especially when rocketing down hill.
Nerf N-Strike Wii Blaster
April 16, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Gaming Gadgets, Toy Gadgets
What is it?
If you know Nerf then you will know that they are the source of endless foam dart fun. This new Nerf product is a “pull pin to cock, pull trigger to shoot” foam dart pistol.
This is the Nerf N-Strike Wii Blaster, it comes with 3 darts and a useful instruction book that tells you not to shoot your weapon at someone face (made us laugh). It also has a second, slightly more useful use. You can remove the barrel of the gun and replace it with a Wii remote allowing you to use it with you Nintendo Wii.
Gadget Show Live Preview
April 13, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Gadget News
As you may already know Channel 5’s Gadget Show are doing a “Live” show that kicks off this Friday. Not wanting to miss a thing GFM will be attending in force and hopefully get some juicy scoops on new and upcoming gadgets.
The event sold out some time ago but they are doing regular online updates for all the people who were unable to secure themselves a ticket (see video below). It wont be as good as being at the event, but we think it is a great way to get everyone involved. The show runs from Friday the 17th to Sunday 19th of April at the NEC Birmingham and has some interesting stands listed in the pre show bumf. Some of the stands we will definitely be visiting include:
Garlic Zoom Kitchen Cutter/Chopper
April 12, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Cooking Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets
What is it?
The Garlic Zoom is as you can probably guess, a new kitchen gadget that allows you to chop garlic with ease. You simply pop the cloves of garlic required into the little bladed contraption then push it along your work surface.
The wheels drive the internal blades that slice and dice the little stinking cloves. Simply tap the garlic out when it has reached your required consistency and add it to your chosen cuisine.
USB Riff Rocker Game Controller
April 10, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Computer Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets, Music Gadgets, USB Gadgets
What is it?
The Riff Rocker is essentially a USB controller for a game. You plug the little rocker into a free USB socket, download the two games off the Riff Rocker website, and then thrash your little fingers off.
The downloadable games come with the usual 3 difficulty settings and are based around the guitar heroes-esc format of “press the correct coloured button in time with the on screen prompt”.
GFM Review Ideals
April 8, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Gadget News
We have been thinking about our reviews hear at GFM and along with some quite frank feedback, realised that not all people enjoy our lengthy and very witty posting style.
So we did some very in-depth market research (had a look at a couple of other sights, asked our mums and discussed with mates at the local boozer) into what people really wanted to read.
Pole Dancing Kit – Peekaboo!
February 12, 2009 - Written by Mike · Filed under Entertainment Gadgets
Need a romantic gift? You have come to the right place because here at GFM we know romance. What better way to say I love you and add a bit of class to your home than with the Peekaboo Pole. At first glance I can hear you shift uneasily in your seat as you think “This is no gadget for a man, well at least no normal man!”, but think a little harder and you will see the bigger picture.
We have tried, but have failed to see a downside to any bloke buying this for his woman, as both the giver and receiver of the Peekaboo Pole dancing pole will receive benefits, which we have broken down as follows:
