Spy Pen Video Camera – Covert Audio & Video Recorder

If you had not noticed, we love spy gadgets hear at GFM like the great Spy Camera Sunglasses we covered. This Spy Pen Video Camera carries on the covert filming theme as it is pretty much what the title says. A pen with a built in video camera. It still amazes us how they manage to squeeze a camera into something so small. What really amazed us was what else this covert spy gadget had to offer as well.

For starters the camera shoots in VGA quality and stores them as JPG files that are time and date stamped. So that’s a “pen” that can shoot movies in exactly the same quality that an old school video player could show. How technology has moved on never ceases to amaze us.

The next great thing about the pen is that it also records audio. This is a massive plus as you can use the pen as a covert microphone as well as a camera. Catching that all important “I am telling you off the record” conversation has never been so easy, obviously you could do this with a voice recording watch, but you’d obviously miss having these other features of this nifty spy pen!

So you have recorded the all important transaction or covertly recorded the conversation now it’s going to be a right faff on to get the recordings off, right? Wrong! It couldn’t be easier, seriously. You simply unscrew the pen in the middle to reveal a USB connector. Simply plug that into your PC and transfer over the records. What if you don’t have the space to plug a pen into your USB slot? No problem it comes with a USB extender cable to make life even easier.

So now we know it has a camera, a microphone and a USB connector, “it must be huge and look nothing like a pen”, was our next thought. Nope, its just like a normal pen (14.5 x 1 x 1 cm ) and would not look out of place on anyones desk. We kid you not, just look at the photo!

So if it’s small, it must have a really short battery life and only store 20 seconds of footage. Wrong again. On a full charge (via usb that takes about 60 mins to charge) it will last about 90 mins. In those 90 minutes of time you can fill the internal 2GB of storage with footage. We don’t mean to sound funny but if you cant covertly shoot the scene you want in an hour, you should probably hang up your spy hat and replace it with a big white D cone and go sit back in the corner.

Thats a pretty big spec for such a small spy gadget, but it is not finished yet. It also works as a pen! Seriously. It also comes with 3 ink refills just in case you like writing with it that much. All in all the Spy Video Camera Pen is one of the best covert spy gadgets we have seen yet!
